Operating Instructions

1. Select the materials you want to cut. DO NOT attempt to cut stainless steel, heat treated or hardened materials. The maximum thickness capacity is 10 gauge in mild steel.

2. Set the back stop at rear of machine for desired length to be cut.

3. Open the blades fully. Push material against the stop bar.

4. Clamp material to the table with C-clamp or vice-grip clamp. Thin gauge materials may be held by hand providing that cuts to be made are not on materials 12” in length or too short to be held by hand safely. You must use the clamp when making full 12” cuts.

5. The blades are sharp. KEEP FINGERS AWAY. Do not lower the top blade with fingers near the blades.

6. Observe safety at all times. Keep machine clean and bolts tight. Do NOT attempt to clean any part of the machine whilst lowering the top blade. Do NOT attempt to clean any part of the machine unless blade is in the down position.

7. Wear safety glasses and protective clothing. If you have long hair—tie this back.

8. Never cut materials when blades have lost their sharp edge. Have them sharpened.

9. NEVER cut rusted materials or greasy/oily materials—clean them first.

10. Lubricate the sliding faces (two at each end in support castings) using a medium oil and then wipe off excess oil.

Changing Blade

The guillotine blades have 4 cutting edges. To change them, simply undo the 3 bolts and turn the blade around. Ensure the top blade cannot move up and down whilst doing this. For the top blade you will need to remove the front guard first. Never put your hands or fingers in between the cutting edges of the blades.
